Overview
    Challenge

EtherCity is a global and regional reference in research on piracy application and behavior, producing insights for associations and recognized leaders in the entertainment, software and gaming industries. Its client portfolio includes companies such as Rede Globo, Netflix, Sky, Fox, Roku, Vivo, Paramount, Anatel, ESPN, Microsoft, among others.

The challenge that brought EtherCity and SENNNO together was to train a computer vision artificial intelligence that could identify the illegal transmission of football matches on platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.

SENNO created a crawler - which works as an extension for a web browser - as well as a dashboard so that users could configure the tool, allowing them to have control over the work that has been done so far and what needs to be done.

The robot developed by the two of them made it possible to notify social media platforms via API that there were transmissions infringing the copyrights of the companies that licensed the competitions, also allowing the “link to be taken down” automatically.

Computer vision artificial intelligence focuses on creating algorithms capable of interpreting, analyzing and understanding images and videos. It can recognize and classify objects, identify patterns and characteristics in images, extract information and perform specific tasks based on the visual information it receives.

It is the same technology used in facial recognition systems and autonomous vehicles, but it has been applied to identify illegal broadcasts of football matches.

    Results

The project used advanced image processing techniques, machine learning and artificial neural networks to analyze and interpret visual data in real time, allowing machines to perform tasks that previously depended on a dedicated human being.

The solution developed by SENNO reduced the average task time of EtherCity analysts to identify illegal transmissions by 2/3. This efficiency gain was achieved through the automation of routine and repetitive tasks, freeing up time for the team to focus on more strategic and creative activities.

New technologies were also implemented, with the development of the crawler and its web interface, in addition to artificial intelligence training to optimize processes, increase accuracy, reduce execution time and achieve productivity gains.

    What's next?

From this initial project, we began to strengthen our relationship with EtherCity and contributed to the redesign of the technological infrastructure of the company's products, with the aim of integrating the company's products into a single suite.

The company currently defines itself as a technological organization that provides world-class brand protection services and market intelligence, through advanced process automation solutions for successful inspection operations.

The company's mission is to create and deliver innovative solutions and services that contribute to the development of a safer digital society, in addition to building projects with cutting-edge technology in the anti-piracy and anti-fraud segment.
